Ackley Wood School reduces carbon emissions to create a more sustainable learning environment
The challenge
Ackley Wood School – part of the Cognita Group of schools wanted to look at quick and easy ways to be more sustainable. The switch to LED lighting made sense as it would benefit the pupils with a better learning environment.
The solution
We provided the school with a comprehensive proposal that outlined the cost savings they could expect to achieve by switching to LED.
Ackley Wood School has now installed energy-efficient LED lighting which will reduce their annual carbon emissions by 39.5 tCO2 – , equivalent to the carbon sequestration of 1,881 trees, a forest of 4 acres or 3.3 football pitches.
