Salix Energy Efficiency Fund (SEEF)

The Salix Energy Effiency Fund (SEEF) has been created for academies, sixth form colleges, free schools, and Multi-Academy Trusts in England to lower energy bills.

SEEF funding has closed – but that doesn’t mean you can’t still make energy savings. Not to worry, can still access eLight’s Green Energy Fund.

Through this fund, eLight will provide a turn-key LED solution with no upfront cost, together with a 7-year maintenance free guarantee.

How does our 0% green energy fund work?

Funding is provided as an Interest-Paid Operating Lease which is compliant with the Academies Financial Handbook. The new initiative will enable qualifying schools to access 0% funding alongside a 7-year maintenance-free solution.

The fund will run in parallel to the government’s new Salix (SEEF) funding window – essentially enabling schools to be guaranteed a zero capital, interest paid switch to LED lighting.

“eLight provided a turn-key solution to replace our sports hall, drama and squash court spaces, not only were they very cost competitive but the installation team worked quickly and professionally providing us with a seamless installation.”

Alastair Blackmore, Estates Manager, Abingdon school

“On its own it’s a small step, but we are teaching our students something of the value of making sound environmental choices. It is particularly helpful that in doing so we are also saving money for the school.”

Principal David Hayes, Malahide Community School

“eLight provided an excellent lighting solution for our school, replacing our old, tired and costly-to-run lights with no upfront cost. have commented that the new lighting is much better and it has really improved the classroom environment.”

Shirley Si Ahmed, School Business Manager, Purley Oaks Primary School

“The environmental agenda is being driven by children all over the world. Our students are part of the generation that are taking leadership and demanding change. We are delighted to enter this new partnership with eLight!”

Deborah O’Hare, Principal, Wallace High School

“We have noticed huge benefits since we switched to LED lighting with eLight. Not only are our lights great quality but eLight have enabled us to start meeting our climate change objectives”

Michelle Faulkner, School Business Manager, Stretford Grammar School

“All schools are under significant pressure to reduce costs. It is not often that we can do that while improving the learning environment for our students. Our partnership with eLight is now delivering real benefits for our school.”

Mark Webb, Operations Manager, Culford School

“People joke about keeping the lights on, but we were genuinely astonished at the cost involved in lighting our school.  When we met with eLight, they showed us that with LED lighting our cost would fall to under €4,500. They reduced our energy use by 70%.”

Donahies Community School Principal, Peter Keohane

“Like all schools we have to identify funding where we can.  Normally, to get these kind of improvements you have to be able to pay a big lump sum up front, that simply isn’t an option for our school, or most schools.  Every penny is carefully watched and spending is prioritised.  This was excellent, we were installing a system that would not only save us money for the next 15 years, it would actually release cash to us in year one.”

Kenmare Community School Principal, Dermot Healy

“We are trying to instil certain values in our students.  One of those is a concern for the world in which they live. There is a strong environmental consciousness among the student body and they were very much on board with the initiative. On its own it’s a small step, but we are teaching our students something of the value of making sound environmental choices.  It is particularly helpful that in doing so we are also saving money for the school.”

David Hayes, Malahide Community School
